As BassLights, Decadence, and New Years Eve approach, scalpers and ticket scammers are more likely to appear on the Internet. Here are some helpful hints to avoid scalpers and ensure you are not getting scammed through any online ticket purchases:

> ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS go through PayPal when buying from others online. PayPal ensures you are safe due to its buyer protection policies. Therefore, if you are scammed on a ticket, you will receive a refund promptly.

> In addition to using PayPal, be sure to send any money as a “good” rather than as a “gift”. There is NO BUYER PROTECTION when you send money as a gift. This is another fast and easy way for scammers to strike.

> Be aware if a seller is giving you a hard time about a safe payment method. If he or she is not willing to comply to a protected method, it is safe to assume he or she is scamming you. Do not feel bad about safeguarding your money!

> DO NOT post a photo of your ticket including the barcode on social media! Scalpers will capitalize on these photos and use them to create fake tickets. This could potentially hurt others, as well as yourself.
