Bass Island
August 13, 2011: New York City: Bass Island

The Bassnectar team is thrilled to bring you the first ever BASS ISLAND adventure, part one in a spellbinding trilogy of music, art, and culture that will unfold on the beautiful South Island Field at Governors Island, New York City this summer. We want to create a unique world to explore, beyond the realms of a normal concert experience. Much like the regional Bass Center events, we expect to ram this island to the gills with freaks and bass heads, as it is our only stop in NYC for the rest of the year.

We are excited to welcome our stellar support line-up featuring LUPE FIASCO, Z-TRIP, PREFUSE 73, VIRTUAL BOY, DAVE NADA and JORO BORO!

Also, we’d like to drop a little hint on the latest puzzle project brewing from the lab. Is it an EP? Is it an album? Whatever it will be, Bassnectar’s next release of original, collaborative, and remixed music, Divergent Spectrum, is close to completion. From what we’ve heard, you should release your excitement over an extended period of time so that you don’t explode.

If you were lucky enough to catch us on our sold out spring bonanza, and you’re looking for some visuals, check out our Tour Video or the 2011 Spring Tour Gallery.

If you’re looking for more words, check out the latest Fan Bass post.

So, what do you want to see at Bass Island? Where should we take the freakshow next? Sound off in the comments section!

Love from Lorin, Lia, Dunwody, Ed, Chris, and our trusty Bass Walrus, Watkins!
